I Dream of a Day We Have Ford Raptor Competitors

The Ford F-150 has had a monopoly on the hardcore offroad pickup truck market for long enough. Can someone please come out with a competitor?

I just....I just don’t get it. The Ford F-150 Raptor has outsold itself ten times over, it’s a great financial decision, it’s been updated to be even better, and is even good on twisty roads. Why won’t anyone else capitalize on this market?!

So WHY in God’s all-holy name has no one came out with a viable competitor? I happen to know that both Chevrolet and Ram have the capability to do such a feat, and honestly, it wouldn’t even take much for them to go about it.

Chevy, toss in the 6.2l L87 (hint, you already have that in your trucks) as standard. It already puts out a healthy 420 horsepower which is only 30 horsepower off of the weak (spits on ground) V6 that comes in the Ford. Your classic good ‘ol boy V8 can even be marketed as the true blue American off-roader. There, I even did your marketing campaign for you.

If you’re really feeling frisky, toss an old Corvette motor in there, you have hundreds to choose from.

From there, all you have to do is slap on some hardcore shocks from a reputable company, get some minor suspension upgrades, and a little r&d to make a stock truck worthy of jumps, and you have yourself a raptor killer.

Don’t think I didn’t see you over there Ram. Hiding in the corner like a scared kitten. Your father, the King of Power, Dodge, isn’t afraid to put their massive 707 horsepower Hellcat engine into everything from sedans to freaking Jeeps. Come on. How have you not shoehorned this engine into a new Ram pickup? I want answers Ram!

This is not an adequate Raptor competitor.

I am not sure why FCA has against your people, but you need to figure it out. Because you may have taken the second-place spot from Chevy, but Ford is still taking your lunch and eating in sales. A Halo Truck could bring your sales up that much further.

Now I am not positive which meetings need to happen, or what sales models you need to see, but in my extremely unqualified opinion, a real Ford Raptor competitor could be the sales boost you are looking for.
